The color is so intense everything around it goes black and white. Gray and silver are for wimps!!!

I like the color but I just find it so misleading in photos and commercials. I mean you see it on tv and it looks like the famous Impreza blue, but when you see it in person on a sunny day, not so much.

maybe this is a stupid question but what is a dogbone mount? and u guys with the tints, you should def add a nice smoked acrylic moonroof deflector - they look great i just ordered mine yesterday from a mazda dealership that has an online site with everything below msrp it's great. also got the cargo net and touch up paint with free shipping.. all for like $102 totally worth it

Hi, just leased a Celestial blue 5-door Sport with A/T and the moon/tune package. Obviously what's not to love after 3 days? It looks and rides terrific. But I do have two questions: How in the heck can I release and clean off the mats, which are "locked in" by what appear to be plastic knobs; and where is the connection for an i-Pod or MP3player? Is it in the glove compartment or in the middle console? Thanks.

mde8965

The two detents holding the mat in -- pick up the back of the mat (the part toward the seat) until it slips over the back of the detent, then push the mat forward (toward the firewall) and it will be out...reverse to install it back.

The aux input is in the center console along with the 2nd power outlet...

Thanks very much for the advice on both ends. A "detent"? Wow.

UPDATE: I just realized the thread title might seem exclusionary to the Speed3 folks and that wasn't my intention as I consider the turbo car in Celestial Blue just about perfect ! ( love that hood scoop).

They may want their own thread but please post up pics if you'd like to show your rides....thanks !

This is what I already planned to do with my rear bumper. As for the hood, leaving it alone except for the hood scoop itself. The idea is to paint the scoop and rear bumper (where the line is) the color of the smiley face front end. Then change out the M's with blacked out M's. I already have the step plates added to the trunk and a diamond mesh grill to the scoop.

Thanks guys.
This is the kind of color that you love it or hate it no mid point and I love it.
I bought this car without test driving it. There was not a speed3 at Wellesley Mazda
and just got into a regular one in the show room to check how it felt and it was a done deal.
Did a lot of research before make a decision.
One contender was the Caliber SRT4 but did not feel comfortable in the cabin.

CB just grows on you. I used to have a laser blue p5. It was very hard for me to let it go for the Celestial. But every day when I see it from a distance, it looks so nice. It's hard to find a color that DOESN'T look nice on these cars, though (except that gunmetal blue yuk!).

Love it!!!

How you did it?

I bought the paint in spray can from automotivetouchup.com. It was $19 for a 12 oz spray can. I masked off the black areas, which was a pain in the arse but as you can see, well worth it.

Step 1: Mask off what you want to keep black
Step 2: get some high heat engine primer (2-3 coats)
Step 3: spray on that lovely Celestial Blueness (3 coats minimum)
Step 4: high heat engine clear coat (2-3 coats)
Step 5: Give it 24 hrs at least to dry. Might be a good idea to bake the paint on before adding the clear coat. I baked mine under 500w lamps for a couple hours.

Step 6: Put your sh!t back together and enjoy staring at it for at least an hour

This is my first Mazda that I just got a little over a week ago, and I can't begin to express how much I LOVE THIS CAR! I did my research, and knew I wanted this car. What I didn't know when I went into the dealer, was what colour I wanted. As soon as I saw the Celestial Blue in the showroom, I knew it was for me! Now I just need to get the windows tinted and I'll be set.

Congrats on the new car. Why no foglights? That a Canadian thing? Thanks! I'm not positive, but I believe fog lights only came on the GT models, and this is a GS. Is that not the same in the US?

Lord_Zath

ahh ok. we have S and GT models, no GS (which I'm guessing is between S and GT in canada). Makes sense why you got the nicer bumper (no chrome) but no fogs.

I like the color, but I find the images and advertising in a misleading way. So you can see on television and it seems that the famous blue Impreza, but when you see it in person on a sunny day, not so much.So you're saying it looks better in ads then it does in the flesh? Personally I think it looks better in person than in the pictures I've taken, but that's just me.

From what I can tell on TV, the color is the same as all the Mazda logo, never appear to me that they are the Rally Blue from Subaru.

Little late but thought I would share, 2010 CB GT, bought it for the girlfriend so A/T :)

Hey everyone, new to this forum by the obvious fact that this is my first post but glad to see there are people out there that love the Celestial Blue as much as I do. =) My roommate likes to call my car Stitch but my lady lovingly refers to it as Sully.

Thanks for the welcome. Quick question, how hard was it to install your HID kit and is it worth it? I love the xenons on my Infiniti and would really like something like that for the MS3.

HID's are simple...Its a plug and play system then you just have to mount the ballasts where you choose. PM me if you need some more info

Sorry to dig an old thread from the grave, but I'm curious how many dudes own (or have owned) a celestial blue Mazda 3? I am still loving mine, but I have to admit that I rarely ever see other dudes driving them. Only chicks. Just curious.

I don't have any recent pictures, but I've done 5% tint to the back windows, and 35% to the front. I've also installed blue dome lights, LED reverse lights, 6000k HID's, and replaced the DRL's with LED strip lights (kind of the like Audi look). I love my car! In hindsight I kind of wish I didn't get this color, as I'm worried it could be a fad and might make it tougher to sell later on. But I still love my car.
