View Full Version : Will AP Make TSB Unnecessary?

I have hard start, rough idle, and hesitation issues. I called the dealership and they identified a TSB that can be performed for $98. They said it was a flash and that nothing mechanical was to be altered. I don't have the TSB number, but as a general rule, will a correct map on an AP cancel out any map the dealership would flash my ECU with? I'd much rather save the $100 and just take care of the issue myself when I get my AP. I also understand that switching to colder plugs will smooth out the rough areas of the HP curve.
Am I in the ballpark here?

why do you have to pay 98 bucks for it? Find the TSB for it, i am sure there are links here that have it, and see if your call falls into the requirements for it. If it does, then it's free. But, dont just let them charge you for it though.

I'm out of warranty and it's not a recall, just a TSB.

Save your money and just use your AP. I'm pretty sure the stock MS6 map on the AP is the latest and greatest flash. So if you have or are buying an AP, there's your reflash (without spending $98).
