Hey gang,

I recently bought my 3 a month ago, so bear with me that I'm still in the neurotic, paranoid babying phase.

With that said, I'd like to know from all the older veteran owners if it is possible to blow out/over power your system? Also, any problems arise from turning it up to maximum? (Never done it and never will, just curious to gauge the tolerance of our audio system)

I usually listen to hip hop so there will be bass which I'm assuming will require extra output of power from the speakers. I also have the standard audio system, non bose.

So in short, how is YOUR audio system after years of loud, bassy, audio abuse?

Thanks guys. Anyone who can put my paranoia to rest will be much appreciated.

if you max out the amp, you will get audio clipping and that fucks up speakers

define " blow your system"

if you mean like blowing fuses or something along that line, im sure.

If you mean causing your speakers to sound like rattle cans ya, the stock speakers are not that strong.

I have 2 12" MTX thunder 5500. A little excessive? yes! but i got the whole set up for $80

If you want bass, and dont want to kill your small speakers get a nice 8" or 10" sub with a 200w amp and you can turn the bass off the speakers and keep the bass to the sub.

I dont think you will blow the stock system by turning it up all the way, you will make your speakers crap out though.

didnt notice you wanted advice from a 3 also, my mom just crapped out one of her speakers (non bose) in her 3 hatch. If your gonna want loud bass, i strongly suggest getting a sub.

this last tank i got 27. HAHAH and that is strictly street driving, not a foot of highway

im buying a single 12" sub box, transferring it over, and then putting that in the car. I will likely sell the remaining 12" and old 2 sub speaker box to my neighbor.
