I searched and really couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a 2003 Protege ES with the MP3 ECU from Spicy and as i was reading i see people saying that it pulls harder to the redline. For some reason with my car i feel like if i let it go to the redline the engine would blow up and it also really doesn't feel like that much power is made after 5000 RPM. Also it seems like after 5000 RPM it would take forever to get to the redline because the revs go up so slow especially in the higher gears. I was wondering why it feels this way and what the solution would be? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but i'm just trying to learn.

make sure your plugs are the correct heat range and gapped properly. Try some 93 next fill-up as well. I believe the MP3 ECU calls for 91 so the extra octane might help a bit. Anything past that is likely just because of the fact that you're driving a 28-2900lb car with less than 120horse. It's going to be slow, espically in the 'higher gears', the Mp3 ECU is only putting up 10 more ponies.

I have been puttting in 93 octane for a little bit now. What kind of plugs would give me the best performance?

i have seen multiple videos and been in NA p5s and proteges that have no problem making it to redline. my car doesnt really pull after 5k and i also run 93 octane and have been for awhile along with NGK Iridium IX plugs, but stock wires.
