just want some confirmation on this code 0031. is this the first o2 sensor, plugged into the top of the header? thanks.

Yes. Download the manual from this site and look in the ENGINE section for trouble shooting fault codes.

If it's a aftermarket 02 sensor, then check out the place they spliced into the harness. Look for loose connections etc.

thanks for replying, i just went ahead and bought a o2 sensor from mutmatt and reset the cel. hasn't been back since. sometimes the definition may be clear to mechanic but to a regular guy a little hazy.

Sometimes your car has to go thru a *Drive Cycle* before the fault code is turned on so to speak.

What a drive cycle consists of is written somewhere. IN the online FSM probably. Anyway, it's got to jump thru a number of hoops before it kicks a fail light again, if indeed there is a failure. No reply needed, just typing while watching MotoGP on Speed.
