What the difference and when should one be used rather than the other?
Thanks
(Im going for my 1st mod and not sure what the difference is - well, second really if you include the cone filter i slapped on the MAFS ;) )

I don't know about you protege guys, but in the Mazdaspeed6 world these are all essentially the same thing. They are all a piece of pipe that eliminates a catalytic converter.

Well essentially they are the same thing but us Pro guys don't really use those terms. The Down pipe = the 2 pipes right after the turbo one is known as the "s" pipe and the send is called the "J" pipe due to there shapes. The "J" pipe connects to the mid-pipe...although some midpipes have the J pipe included and just connect to the "s"pipe. On the MSP the Mid pipe is where the cats are
CorkSport Downpipe ="s" and "j" pipes (http://siteground207.com/~protegeg/popup_image.php?pID=1079)
SLS mid-pipes (http://siteground207.com/~protegeg/popup_image.php?pID=1363)
The top one shows with the J pipe included
the bottom one shows without the J pipe included
I hope that makes it easier for you
