Hi everyone! I have a White 2008.5 MS3 and I've kept it pretty stock but I'm kind of getting the itch to mod it.

My friend gave me a Greddy turbo timer that he doesn't need thinking I might be able to use it. Does the MS3 need a turbo timer installed?

Thanks,
Max

Hmmm, this probably should have gone in the ECU forum. Can a moderator please move this?

I definitly wouldn't say it is a necessity at stock boost levels on our car. But you got it for free might as well use it

If it's not needed I may try to sell it and get an intake or something.

That's what I would do

i have one and love it. For the peace of mind it offers just hook it up, you arent doing damage by using it.

Well I'd rather mod the car to make more power. I just read the owners manual and it seems if I just idle the vehicle for 30 seconds before turning off the car, the turbo should be fine.

TT is more or less useless on this car but if you don't mind going through the hassle of installing it yourself then it can never hurt. Unless you break something during the install...

you don't really need a tt on a water-cooled turbo

Technically, you're supposed to park a manual transmission car with 1st gear (Or reverse) engaged as a backup to the emergency brake, anyhow. So unless you're so heavily modded that your car needs way more idle cooldown time than you can possibly bear to sit for, I'd just stick with the 30-second cooldown rule of thumb and trade/sell the TT for something of more immediate usefulness.
