View Full Version : Ported Throttle Body who or where are they?

I am looking to get my stock TB ported the right way with a ne wbutterfly, have not been able to find any info on who still does it or where it can been done. Corksport does not sell them anymore or do the work, anybody have any idea.

Machining shops/ engineering shops should be able to do the job for you. Usually the most you can get out of a TB is an extra 3mm.
Auto Exe used to/does make a larger throttle body. Not sure where you can get it from now though.
You can also swap to a 626 throttle body if you wish to :) (626 is single butterfly whereas protege is twin from memory)

Yea, I have a spare TB sitting, about to be ported also. My friend has a shop and the tool to do it, for like $20. maybe free. Hope the gain is noticable.
Any shop should have the tool, or atleast any mechanic in the shop should have that tool whether it's at work or home.

They are the same engine. Throttle body and IM are both interchangeable along with other parts such as gears e.t.c.
Twiggy has a 626 TB on his car :)
