I recently noticed a slight engine hesitation when accelarating from slow speeds and found a TSB that may solve the problem. It involves updating the PCM software module. When I mentioned this to the dealership, the service tech said he could update the PCM software, but that would probably lower my gas mileage. My only answer was 'huh'? Can someone with more knowledge of cars and the Mazda5 please enlighten me? Thx!

This creaping tranny issue of hesitation on acceleration seems to of hit both the Mazda 3 & 6 units....these a PCM flash corrected it.

To hear you may have an issue with your 5 ...say a small tweek would not suprise me. As for the less fuel efficient..I think that is reaching a bit. JMO
