The one in the light is weird...but I hope the one on the hatch isn't a key-hole.

If I had to guess, I'd say back up camera or push button release to pop the hatch. (spin)

Those wheels alone are enough to make me puke.
Thank you Mazda for making my first gen look that much more kickass.

I was about to ask what new rubber is on the tires...but I searched and came up with the conclusion from the picture and looking at tirerack: Dunlop SP Sport 2050, 225/40. They don't appear to get very good reviews...

And they get LED tails, too? We don't have that option here in the US on the 2010s...along with HIDs. That red fabric is ack, but glad they added the leather center armrest. Blue footwell LEDs too eh?
How do work the cruise control if it's "set +" and "set -"? Looks to me like there's bigger fender gaps in the F & R.

Boost gauge.

I am liking the TMIC cover too.

I think the bumper insert piece would look better black.

wonder if the boost gauge is actually any good. normally boost gauges from the factory are not as accurate as aftermarket ones. i guess you can kinda say that about any gauge actually

I think EDM and JDM get the blacked out rear bumper, IIRC.

Looks surprisingly good. Interior looks nice, with the boost gauge, info display, power and heated seats. IC cover looks good as well. Not as bad as I thought it would be at all... and I like the color.
I hope the USDM gets the black bumper insert.
USDM doesnt get the black bumper insert.

i think thats a regular mazda 3 MPC. not mazdaspeed 3... i think... if it is a mazdaspeed 3 it should have the "mazdaspeed 3" emblem.

Well Tacoma being so close to Canada they could be for them? But either way I wonder what the price of getting the edm/jdm insert would be. Or paint it I guess.
Also pissed about the heated seats.... I want.

I like the interior a lot, but the rest of the car is to busy, and as soon as you lose sight of the hood duct it loses all of it agressive looks. They also should have put bigger rims on it. with all of the bugling curves the rims look to small for the car.

I still think the enlarged spoiler and front facia is stupid looking.

The back of the car is wider, sleeker with less height. Dual exhaust, wider tires and larger spoiler, IMO, also make the car look sportier and more aggressive.
I agree about the rims, it does look too small, especially vs the 1st generation.
The car as a whole is a big improvement. From pics, aside from red, the smiley grill blends in and looks fine.

there is no such thing as a mazda 3 "mpc".

autobot or decepticon?
I sort of liked it until I saw the one pic of it next to the 1st gen ms3
But either way I wonder what the price of getting the edm/jdm insert would be.
JDM doesnt get it either. just verified it with some JDM mazdaspeed axela owners.
Or paint it I guess.
easiest solution.

The one in the centre pops the hatch, the button on the taillight locks the hatch and all four doors. Same as on the regular 2010 Mazda3 Sport with the keyless start.

IIRC our Canadian cars have to come into port in Vancouver due to trade/tax/customs laws.
I was the one who brought the car out to that meet. :)

I think one of the pics of the interior shows the boost gauge. The regular 3 would not have this. Plus, doesn't it have the mazdaspeed 3 emblem?
Overall, really liking the looks. With a black one, the smile all but disappears, not a big fan of the tail lights, but will grow on me, just like the grill.

Only the North American car has the Mazdaspeed3, the Euro (and I think Australia) say Mazda3 MPS and the JDM car is Mazdaspeed Axela. If you look at the picture posted you'll see the MPS badge on the side of the hatch.

In that interior shot, I see heated seat switches! The CDN spec sheet did not show heated seats as std or optional... Pls confirm, thanks!
i would have given up all the interior gadgets for AWD
I don't get it. They got the AWD system all ready. Is the chassis not capable of AWD or something? Is there a euro or jap version of the 3 with AWD? You think they would have kept the AWD system out of it due to cost, but then they add all of this other stuff inside and raise the cost.
I just want a AWD car, and when my lease is up next year, I think Mazda is going to lose a customer.

Again, regarding the heated seats... Was this car a Mazda Canada Demo car? If so it is prolly Euro spec or maybe not exactly as the rest of the CDN cars will be? Since the option sheet does not show heated seats...
I'll have to double-check at the dealerrship when the cars show up there to be sure...
euro spec car....fat chance on that.

so basically you want a heavier, slower, more expensive mazda.
the car you want is called the ms6 and it sold like complete ass.

I actually drive an MS6; no offense taken.
The only reason it sold like ass is that it is a larger car and has to compete with accord/camry as a 'family car'. In most families, both mom and pop have to drive the car and most NA households don't have 2 drivers capable or willing to drive stick.
'nuf said. It is an awesome sleeper, and now is our family car (my wife drives manual, lucky for me).
AWD in the MS3 would be fine since it falls in the sport/compact class - and here people almost always want manual trannies anyway. An extra $2-3k for AWD would also make it more expensive but also put it head-to-head with the WRX265 with no weaknesses.

i agree that an AWD 3 would be cool (many would disagree and say just get a speed6) but putting it head to head with the wrx might still be a little difficult. the basic 09 wrx is only about 20lbs moe (be it sedan or 5-door) than the ms3 is now. im not sure how weight would be added to the ms3 to get awd, but you could kinda average the weight of a drive shaft, differential, a couple half shafts, etc. not to mention any added strengthening parts to add to the car going from a puller to a pusher/puller.
and add that the wrx only has a 5-speed, and i think it actually reaches 60mph in 4.8 seconds. the ms6 has had times in the 5.2 range. and i bet an awd ms3 would be very close to the ms6 times

It is a Canadian production car. 5 position heated seats are standard equipment in Canada.
As for the AWD comment, you are forgetting a more important cost than just an increased sticker price, R&D costs. The Mazdaspeed3 is a hot hatch, that's the car's focus and Mazda's engineers don't want to lose sight of that focus. It's the same reason the MX-5 hasn't been gaining weight and horsepower like some other roadsters in the marketplace, the car's focus is light, nimble & RWD.

I want more power so I can get even more Oversteer. The more the power increase, the better the car starts to look!!
