View Full Version : Resonator for a custom exhaust
I going to be adding a resonator on my custom 3" exhaust to reduce exhaust volume/ noise and was wondering what is the maximium length that fits on our midpipes?
I believe most brands offer a 12" and 18" and seen some that goes as long as 26"
From what I read up the longer the better in most cases.
Thanks

I just took mine off, i guess it had to be 18" not sure though, it basically looked like 2 shorter ones. Anywho it wasn't a huge difference but def noticeable
So i'm guessing 18" fit fine then. Vibrant offers a 12 and 18 inch.
I wonder if the 26" one would fit or not and if it provide better sound supression.
A buddy of mine also told me to look in to a Moroso Sprial Flow as well. Not many reviews on that product though.

Man i wish i knew the exact measurements on it. I gave it to an rx-8 buddy so i can't tell you, but aren't they just going to cut the length of the resonator out of the exhaust and replace it with the resonator? So if done right it's not going to add length or take any away
I don't have my car right now so I can't get under there to make measurements.
I want to see what size everyone is using and how long the straight portion of the exhuast is?
Thanks
I bought the Vibrant 18" and I think it should fit.
