so, i've been getting kinda lousy mileage lately, i'm not sure why, i just filled up and it was the worst its been, 21 mpg. I used to get like 29. General mods are:

SRI
FMIC
unichip
2.5" catted midpipe
exhuast mani

Could it be the unichips fault?? I had thought people were getting better mileage with the unichip, but it seems like the problem may have been around since i've had the unichip. I don't run around with it on high boost all the time, although i do use it occasionally. I've been driving about the same as i always have, and that last 21 mpg tank included ~100 miles of highway driving (at about 75 mph).

Is my decreasing mileage an indicator of a problem??

How's your tire pressure?

I'm getting the same problem, and it seams like the MSP is just getting
fuel dumped in it at half throttle.

around 32... funny you mention it i thought i had a puncture in one, but discount tire said it was fine. It seemed like it dropped a few psi though and i don't know why.

It could be caused by the weather. I feel like when its hotter my car does not get as good of fuel milage.

hm... mines the other way around... cold weather gives me gobs of power and poor gas mileage... and the other way around for hot weather.

it can also get so hot that the ECU makes the engine run rich to keep itself form blowing up!

anyway, the hot weather aside, ethanol can cause shitty gas mileage too... and obviously boosting is going to make the mileage shitty

Check the tires, plugs, vac gauge, the octane needs to be premium. The ECU can pull timing and just adding gas if it sees trouble. When was the last time you changed your oil. I know as milleage goes up on an oil change I tend to lose some milleage.

first off, it has been very very hot here... regular 102+ temps. I do boost, but not really any more than i did when i was getting 29 mpg. This is really one of the first times that i've been driving my car over the summer, after almost 4 years of ownership, maybe the heat is the problem. been using 93 octane, changed the oil about 300 miles ago, vac gauge reads normal, but i haven't checked the plugs in a while.

it's going to dump a lot of fuel because the weather is so hot

Damn I wish I was getting that mileage!!!!! I''ve been getting 220 miles to the tank consistanly since I bought the car almost 2 years ago. so that puts me somewhere in the 16 miles /gallon range (notcool)(sad2)
Maybe the AC use is eating more gas in your case

the warm air intake doesn't help either
it will help a lot to just make a heat shield to go around the filter

driving with A/C is a MUST here down south... you will fucking die without it... and it actually improves gas mileage on the highway than with the windows down!
