Also, here is a perfect example of reflection... look at my avatar, you can see my friend's Acura CL Type-S in the reflection by my rear wheel, and he was parked 6 feet away from my car.

Now look at the last pic in his post the intercooler isn't reflected on the lip of the bumper, something that close would show a reflection.

(ones I have found online, from friends, and even one that I edited myself spending 22 hours of total work in editing to make it "perfect".... software programs like Photoshop, etc. Leave their own signature code on images).

Red would still show a reflection of silver, at the very least... not a blurred shadow... as shiny as that car is, and the reflections it shows in the first pic from the houses on the other side of the street?

I'd say the car is washed and waxed enough to reflect something so close to it, like the FMIC. You guys aren't seeing the bigger picture here.

yes your car is black, it is black cherry...no it's not a pure black, but you are merely arguing semantics there with that comeback lol

darker shaded cars such as yours show a lot more reflections than most shades of red, this shade of red show more indirect reflections than direct reflections...unless the light was coming at the proper angle it may not show a reflection in the lower lip coming off the car

there are reflections of the piping nearby the foglights...which is not exactly a place that one would consider placing a reflection, but there would be a reflection there with the lighting at the proper angle

regardless, it may be photoshopped, but your points aren't the end-all statement of the world that they are lol

I still don't know, but I'm leaning towards a good photoshop. It is easy to do the shadow at the top of the core, takes 2 seconds. As for the reflections, they can be faked too, but it's not as easy. If you look at each of the pics, you can see the fog light reflection, and the color and location matches well. At first I thought it may have been chopped off the SRT4 that's in that photobucket account, but it's tough to say. I still don't know.

its looking real to me. The Intercooler looks like its pushing the bumper into the hood. The pass. side of the hood doesnt sit flush and there is a gap between bumper and hood on the pass side but nothing on driver side. leads me to think its real.

The pipes are clearly still bent, you just can't see the entire bend anymore.

Firstly, the actual validity of these pictures is currently under hot debate.

secondly, i don't think anyone would ever actually want to do this, it looks horrific.

Now, to actually answer your question: With a core that huge, you will definitely get huge turbo lag. A girl could theoretically do it; it depends on said girl's experience and confidence cutting into the bumper to make room for that monster and its pipes.

Study the pics better.... even if the core was pushed back a few inches, you will still see the bends... look at the first set, you can noticeably see the bends from the sides... even pushing it back a few inches would show it.

ALSO, compare the first and 2nd set of pics.... first set = looks real.... second set = you can see the distortion where the intercooler is to blend with the bumper.

It looks cartoonish and fake.

The first set of pics were done very well.... the 2nd set of pics were clearly half assed.

I really wish there were other people on this board that were proficiently advanced in Photoshop.

Just to prove a point, I'm going to take that exact intercooler and put it on my car ;) And yes, I will be editing the reflections to match the color of mine (thumb)

It's alot easier to hide a shopped FMIC behind a bumper, than it is to make it stick out like the OP did. Main reason is the number of reflections, and the fact the reflections have more color in them in the OPs pics. That AMS chop is pretty good, except the core itself should be darker since it's hiding behind the bumper, so less light would hit it. Props though, good for 5 minutes!

The other thing is the quality of the OPs pics suck, so it's easy to hide crap that sticks out in bad chops. If they were higher res, better focus, it would be much easier to tell.

Look at the bottom lip in both pics. The FMIC isn't moved THAT far back (which you can judge by seeing the amount of the front lip revealed in the pics). Moving it only a few inches would STILL show some of the 90 degree bend. In the 2nd set of pics you see NONE of the 90 degree bend.

Just because he moved the FMIC futher back (even if it was 10 inches) you would still see the 90 bends at least from the front.

Ok what you said now makes better sense, and I was referring to your comment that it's real and not giving an explanation as to why so... Now look at the pic and compare it with the open engine.... if that pipe was a 90 degree bend it wouldn't match up with the pipe that crosses over the top of the engine.

you can also see if you look in the area circled on the last pic, that the image has a distorted color view... and there's no longer a reflection on the pipe, there's a BARE small single spot which appears that it may have a slight "reddish" hue to it. Being that the pipe is polished chrome.... in day light... and not hiding behind the grill or anything, it should have a better reflection on it.

what makes it so funny is the fact the front black plastic peice on the bumper in the 1st few pics is cut out to fit the IC. then when its tucked back into the bumper the black piece is perfect. a bit odd. but thats just me. im also pretty savoy with the photoshop and this is hardly hard to accomplish. ill buil you a whole car if you want engine and all. give me a few pics of the motor and outside and ill give you a totally tricked out speed3.

On another note, that IS the FMIC that is featured in this thread, he asked about it on another thread.

The best part about that FMIC is that I came across it searching for Mazdaspeed6 stuff on ebay. I emailed the guy asking if he's test fitted the pipes on a speed3/speed6. He said no, so then I asked how can he say it fits. and he replies "it fits with modification". I replied "yes, a lot of modification, in which most of the pipes that come with your kit won't suffice properly without cutting/welding those themselves. and I checked the dimensions of the core.... it doesn't properly fit the speed vehicles.

At best this is a "universal kit" that can probably fit a wide range of cars (especially with open mouths in the front bumper) but most cars that are hindered by braces/etc like the speed3 and speed6 it won't fit. Hence why not many companies are making FMIC setups for the speed3/6

I used the snipping tool in Windows 7 (which is also available in Vista). It basically allows you to cut/crop an area on your monitor that you want to save an image of and voila.

gadwin printscreen does the same for pre-vista users if anybody needs btw

command + shift + 4 will do it on a mac.
command + shift + 4 and then spacebar will do the alt + print screen function
command + shift + 3 will take a full screenshot
