Anyone know if P5s or MP3s are governed for top speed?

This has been debated many times on the forum. Some still say yes, while some still say no. Either way, the top speed is around 124-128.

Were you going down a very steep hill for a very long time? Lol

Also, what size rims and tires do you have. Your odo may be off by a few mph if you have aftermarket rims and tires.

Found a speedometer calibration site and entered the stock and replacement tire size values and it said 132 would now be 130.77. Much better than I expected.

But speedometers are not accurate from the factory either, so the only way to do it is to use GPS.

how the heck do you guys even feel comfortable doing these speeds in these cars?

Mine feels like i'm forcing it to do more than 95

plus the mileage absolutly SUCKS at anything over 70

My old MP3 was. Topped out at 132 like it hit a fuel cut!! Mine got there without any problem.

Mods were:

Injen CAI
Ractive 4-1 header
2"5 custom pipping all way back with Spintech exhaust
Intake Manifold flap removal
Indigo 9# lightweight flywheel
ACT 6-puck clutch
SR Motorsport Cam gears
SR Motorsport cams
Yoko Parada Spec II's tires

I feel pretty comfortable at those speeds lol but my car handles pretty well it actually feels better drivin at high speeds in the hwy then low speeds around town. lol and in my p5 which is stock i could only get up to 125 lol

I did 150+ in the MS6, after like 135-140. Feels like the car drops and hugs the road! Felt really steady and smooth

In the MP3 since the aerodynamics are different and the fact it was lighter. It feels like I'm flying, wen i go 120+!!

Mine's stock and it's hit 176km/h. This was on the last bit of oil though, so I'm guessing it can do better.

176KMH is about 110MPH nothing to fancy!:D

Yeah I know lol...

I did the conversion and was almost embarrassed. Wouldn't mind seeing what it would do after the oil change but it can't be that big of a difference.

I think the MP5 can do around 120+ but I'm not too sure. If you have any supporting mods, I'm sure you probably could get up there a lot quicker than stock

I hope someone posted the correct answer, which is that Proteges do not have computer nannies. The closest you can get to a nanny is ABS/EBD, which the vast majority (in the states) don't even have.

Governed at "slow the fuck down"

Unless you're 22v... then it's plaid.
