Do you think i have a bad throwout bearing?

My car makes a "click" noise when shifting now.

Happens probably about 50% of the time and especially when the car is cold. I think it's the throw out bearing because happens when i put the car in reverse and start letting the clutch out and when shifting in forward gears. I think this has gotten worse with time, but the car only has ~7k miles on it!!!

Is this normal for this car or could it potentially be going bad on me? Any other signs to look for?

What happens if you leave it in neutral and work the clutch pedal?

Nothing, the sound only happens at the start of movement.

Ok so it does it even when in gear. I can slow down or accelerate or brake and it will make the noise. So it isn't clutch related. But movement related. It sounds like a click/rattle but more on the click side. A friend of mine says his car does the same thing (S2000). I wonder what this could be.

at 7k miles I would be showing this to a dealer tech. - use your warranty - that's what it's for! just try to replicate the noise for them

sounds like a problem i had do you have a cobb sri intake by any chance and stock motor mounts?
the bracket to my intake broke and it would make a clicking noise, cause the bracket was tapping together from the engine movement. its sounds like the problem your having too.

Interesting.... I do have a Cobb SRI.. i'll have to look at this. I just recently (last week) put those Corksport rear mount inserts in. I'll take the intake bracket off and look at it closely. It sounds like it's coming from that general area.

hey guys i have the same problem i hear a clanking too and i also have a cobb sri but i only have 3300 miles!!!!!!!!! i put the sri in about 1500 miles its too dark to go check it out to see if its the bracket but i will check in morning .

I looked and it seems fine. I haven't actually taken it off yet because i've loaned my tools out. I'll take the bracket completely off this weekend.

i looked at where mine had broke and it wasnt the actual bracket itself that broke it was the piece that it mounted to on the battery box that broke. so look by the bolts where it mounts to.

i sawww mine went to junk yard to weld it back on paid 20 bucks and they fixed it!!! stlllllll have same clank
