I'm considering possibly putting in a cold air intake (I have a mazda3 2.3 L semi-auto 5 speed) but I definitely have to look into it more. My question is however, does anyone have one installed in theirs and have a noticeable difference in speed or performance? thanks : D

i just got a intake in my mazda3 2.3. it sounds really good! i got it threw the mazda dealer. they gave me the mazda speed intake cause it wont void the worrenty. they also recommend that u dont use a based oli air filter like k&n cause the oli's in the filter can damage the sensor next to ur throttle body. thats like a 500 $$$$ sensor!!! so be careful!

oo thanks, hmm.. about how much was it from them? if you don't mind my asking : )P I found the same I'm assuming? speed ones on ebay for $166. I'd have to get some friends to do it for/with me cause I don't know how.. lol or get the dealership to I guess?

and you noticed a difference?

thanks again : D

mine was expenisive cause i got it from the dealer. i paid $500 for the part and install. without the install it was $320. if u are getting it, i would have mazda put it in for u cause its tricky to place it in the right position. if u put it wrong u will crack ur intake air flow. i can definatly tell the take of acculeration. its sounds awesome! if there is any other questions let me know.

Awesommee lol thanks : D yea well if it doesn't void the warranty having them do it then that's definitely worth it I guess, lol so it's a little louder? I wish you could record it I wanna hear o_o lol : )P AWESOME I'm so excited. now I just have to save up money/beg my parents to split it with me as a belated birthday gift : )P

Where do you live? Cold air intake will cause water suction problem if you live in a floodgate place....

yea im not sure how to do that.... lol. no but its def. worth it! its loud i think. it's not raspy loud, it's good quality loud i think... dont worry about the water suction problem..... what ever that guy said. mazda puts it in a safe place.

lol cool, thanks yea it's not too wet around here though (thanks for asking to make sure, I didn't know about that) I mean it's been raining here in jersey loads lately, but I only have to drive through serious puddles maybe, twice a summer even? not too bad.
