hey everyone!
i was thinking of deleting my resonators just for the sound because i cant afford an exhaust for now, i was wondering if that was in anyway bad for the car? i had a few people tell me it was bad for the turbo or that it might "explode" if i over work the car. and others have told me that the car wont be affected.. can all u MS3 genius' help me out?

There is no way this is bad for the car...
When you switch out for an aftermarket CBE... You're increasing the diameter .5"? So how would cutting out a couple resonators, and replacing them with a couple pieces of 2.5" straight piping hurt the car? I don't see it. I have my resonators cut, and I love the noise. It's a cheap mod, that makes the car sound awesome. I say go for it. (nana)

You shouldn't pay more than $30 a resonator.

i paid for to have them both cut out and replaced. No problems what so ever and I work the shit out of my car all the time. And to echo what someone else said, add a test pipe and it just sounds bad ass. Do IIIITTTTTT!!!!!!

Only issues you may have is voiding a warrantee. Other than that there is no way you could do damage to the turbo by deleting the resonators. Only thing that may happen, which there was another thread about this, so lets no go there, is you would decrease back pressure and increase horsepower. But for what you're cutting off you shouldn't notice any change in your butt dyno, just the sound coming from your exhaust.
I payed about 120, had two flanges welded onto the piece they took off and the piece they put on. So if I want to I can jack up the car, crawl under it and just undo a couple of bolts to swap out the pipes.
Good luck.

thats a good idea about the flanges.
I cant imagine it making any HP difference. Im not sure if it is provable. I did it purely for sound.

Thank you guys so much, I went ahead and did it after the first couple of u responded. It sounds great. I'll post up a vid soon. The guy normally charges 30 per resonator but he gave me a break and charged me 40 for both. Saved $20! I appreciate all your advice. U guys are great!

Save up. The DP/RP combo is the best bang for the buck in performace gains, provided you already have a good CAI or SRI to open up the breathing on the intake side.
And save those resos. If you do go DP/RP (especially if catless), you will find out that without the resos the exhaust is LOUD. Oh, let me say that again, it is LOUD, and will give you headaches if this is your daily driver. And the cops are not going to like it at all.
I had to add a third reso in the middle of the RP to kill the strong obnoxious drone at 60 mph, which was severe. But I love the result. Huge power gain on stock boost and tune. You can knock two full seconds off of 0-100 mph. And the gains are not just at peak power, but are all across the power band.
