Hadn't seen much on this so I thought I'd ask...I have a 90proto & live in the wild wild west where a car that handles corners well is fun but its more fun if you can drive it in the sand (somewhat of course) anyways I want to know what my options are for lifting this lil sucker 2in or so to fit larger tires & just for shits n giggles whats it take to swap in an awd drivetrain ( exp mechanic/fabricator) if the cost is astoundingly high I'll just hold out till I find an awd in someones yard waiting to be resurected.

Also any other recomends to the sus. on lifts or rallying would be greatly appreciated.

You could pickup a coilover kit and run a taller spring to get some extra wheel clearance.

i'm considering that but the setup would have to be able to handle serious ruts and I dont know & cant find too much info on how a mfg's spring would take to that so Im going down to the local sandrail shop to ask questions & see if I dont get laughed out of the garage. I will return w/ whatever info I can find for the benefit of the next guy/gal.

Ideally you will want to locate some rally suspension from the 4wd BG protege. The 4wd suspension will fit the 2wd models.

The 4wd doesnt sit any taller does it? You will prob have to get a longer strut and spring. I think you could come up with something. Or add a coil spacer to your strut assebmly. The 4wd drivetrain is hard to come by. Usually not cheap.
