Well yes and no... The problem with the skunk 2 and others like ground control, is that they will never give you the ride quality you are looking for with the stock struts.. They will however make the ride bouncy as shit and basically allow you to drop the car for looks... But if they are used and modified correctly, with lets say a set of Koni strut inserts, then you will be on your way to awesome handling and all around control.

so this wont work with the stock struts...i have to buy different struts for them???

basicly yes... usually why you see such a high price on "complete" coil over sets.

so i should just go with the springs to lowered and have better handling huh??

You have to know that whatever spring you go with, your stock struts will blow. Whether it's after a 1000 miles or 10000, they will blow. Best to buy new struts and springs together or go with quality coilovers like BC's

exactly, and it's an 03, it's probably up there in mileage, you probably want to think about replacing your struts anyways, although I am at 96K on my stockers, and there just starting to get weak, but for some reason mine has been a bit of an anomaly in the MSP's.

DONT GET Skunk2 Coilovers! They suck! all my friends who have ever owned them had theirs break on them, Go with springs or REAL coilovers. I suggest BC Coilovers haha

Like stated springs would be ok, but that depends on the mileage of your car. Because you might risk blowing struts, in which case you could just get new oem ones or upgrade. I have had Eibach Sportline springs on my car for about 40,000 miles now with no issues, but then again my car has roughly 60k on it...
Overall springs are chaper but you are taking a risk. Hope this helps, along with what others have suggested.

Oh yeah this really helps... i did not know that the stock struts would not really hold new springs.... Thanks a lot for the info you guys

You should keep checking the forums for deals on struts. I bought a used set of tokicos with 15k on em for $200 :)

I can agree with this, and not to mention I also have freinds that have Skunk2 and it took them FOREVER to seat down.
Edit: one of my buddies skunk2 springs for his corolla tooke around 10K miles to seat... at least thats what Skunk told him... I had to ask him, and that just seems like crazyness to me...

HA, heres a good one, that same buddy of mine with the corolla ended up getting Tiens for sort of the same reason, he was at an Auto X even and going around a coner then all of a sudden you head a pop and the car was on 3 wheels for a second... he had a good laugh at his expense,

Well in your opinion... But if you want to talk best then you have to look at the Motons.

Really? Gee I must have been really lucky to get 90,000+ km out of my Tokico HP's (MSP struts) with Progress lowering coils (1.75"). They're still good but sitting in my garage now as I went to BC's.

1. they're cheap
2. i saw a pic of someone's set where it broke in half at where the threaded base joins the strut knuckle
3. the best ones available are KW's, TEIN's, or JIC's, or a custom built koni setup
