Why is it garbage? I'm just looking at options right now. I need new rear struts as my tires are cupping and my alignment is within spec.

i believe the GR2s are just a factory replacement. Factory though meaning like a Monroe.
They would work but would probably take a good shit kicking with the Racing Beat springs because of their stiffness.
your handling will be greatly affected as well..

I have read reviews that other people tend to use them on lowered 240s, xbs and they seem to like them but I was unable to anything for the proteges. I'm also lowered on teins as well.

ircc its like 30 bucks per strut. I'm just looking at all options right now as I have to chunk a good amount of change at the MSP when their isn’t much saved up....
It needs new sway bar bushings (front and rear, this can wait), 4 new tires, both rear struts, alignment(might as well do all 4 corners), timing belt, shifter bushing(hopefully this will fix my shifting issues), and a few other odds and ends.
I would really love to get these struts but in reality I don’t need anything like that. As I don't auto-x or anything like that. Just drive it hard every now and then.
