Allright, my ebrake cover has seen better days. What are the cool options preferably silver of some sort but not chrome. IIRC, somebody had a very cool MOMO I wanna say. Not really feelin the CF thing since that's not my theme inside, not that it's not cool as hell tho. Whatchas got goin on??????

My e-brake doesn't work.
You should probably fix that. lol Your rear brakes may not be working... Or the e-brake cable is just broke. Hopefully its just the cable.

Yeah the cables are all stretched. Tightening them doesn't fix it.
I've been trying to get some used cables from someone lol.

It's not attached I'm guessing... That or your rear brakes aren't working right.
Think about it. How would your e-brake work if the cable stretched? It wouldn't hold very strong, thats for sure.

Huh? what do you mean not attached?
And thats what I'm saying, its stretched and doesn't hold the car in place

So, I've already asked ScratchNSniff this question (but he bought his handle used and didn't know)...did you guys order the handle for the miata (it's the only one listed)? There are a number of different handles for different vehicles (Hondauh, Toyota, etc), none for the protege...just looking for the right one to order when I pull the trigger.

The MOMO ones seem universal.....my other question is what ebrake boot are people using? That's where I only find Miata ones. Is it just stuffed into the opening in the console on the P5's?

PSADP-A6 is the adapter that you'll need. without a boot, you'll be able to see the metal part of the ebrake

OK, got the steel pit lane handle/adapter. Does the factory perforated part of the ebrake have to come off or am I just scared to force the new one all the way on over it? Goes about half way then is super tight to no go feelin. Goin into service manual now to check it out.............

You will need to pull that factory cover on the handle off...also there is a MOMO knob/boot in the FS section I saw for $50 plus shipping...it was there a few days ago but I couldn't find this thread then...
I went with the MOMO boot as well and think it looks great on there...

So, was yours the black perforated handle or was it some gray stuff like your interior? Is it just take a razorblade & split & peel? Metal underneath that the new one attaches to? Kinda thinkin about lubin the perf up & just forcing the new one over it. Just didn't feel like it was gonna go any more than about halfway before having to get rough with it. Mine doesn't show metal on the back of it either, has some covering over the metal & there's just a bit of it before going into the console.

I went with the MOMO boot as well and think it looks great on there...Just scored that handle/boot that you were mentioning. The boot itself woulda costed me 50.00 so just went with this combo shipped for same price. Now to figure out whether to force the new one over the old one or cut off the perf stuff before going with new one....
