According to a recent report, Honda is preparing to unveil a high performance Mugen Civic Type R.
Although details are still limited, CAR is reporting that the new Civic will feature a 2.0-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine with at least 240bhp. The new hot hatch is also expected to boast a sports suspension, gripper tires, an aggressive carbon fiber body kit, and a racing-inspired interior with no rear seats.
Potential owners will also be offered a variety of performance and personalization options which will allow them to custom tailor their car (http://www.worldcarfans.com/9090615.004/hondas-mugen-motorsports-readying-civic-type-r-with-240bhp#).
Expected to be launched later this fall, the new Mugen Civic Type R will be priced from £35,000-£40,000. A tad steep considering that the 300bhp Ford Focus RS (http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080723.012/ford-focus-rs-revealed-at-bims) costs £25,745 while the Renault Mégane R26.R (http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080722.003/renault-megane-r26r-revealed-at-bims) starts at £24,040.

No...its different when another company takes a econobox and pimps it but when the factory does it its all good.
The speed wasn't a econo box. Mugen civic.....yeah....
He is saying that the MSP is based on a econo box. Why do you think the Mugen Civic is?

I don't care if they brought it to the US and lowered the price to 35K - 40K USD. That price is absolutely outrageous. I can see maybe paying 25K -30K for it... but certainly no more than that. 35 - 40 pounds! You can buy an M3 for that much money! What a joke!

Agreed. so $35k-40k Euros is about $60k US, right? Jesus Christ, that's an expensive Civic. haha (ugh) Used Z06 anyone???

And that would be like a 2007 / 2008 Z06... Not a "old" one.

For $60K us I would go out and buy a BMW M3 or Lexus IS-F. Or a 09 Pontiac G8 GXP and throw a supercharger on the engine.

I don't like the IS-F rear exhaust look.... And for me... with 60K... I would get an S5... I just love the look. They look better even when you are standing next to him. I know they aren't the fastest, but they are a good blend for me...at 60K.

It's not really a Pontiac. Plus bolting on mods on the GXP will make it a bigger buiser than either IS-F or M3 for way less money.

I dislike pontiacs very much. They are ugly as hell IMHO. And maybe not anymore, but as recent as 5 yrs ago, their cars still had a lot of issues with transmissions and electrical things blowing up between 60k and 100k miles. Just my experience with them....

same benefit as turbos in the engine bay, just doesn't produce all the heat in the engine bay.. maybe a little bit more lag, but you also don't have to have custom exhaust manifolds

I agree with you and everyone else that has said it. 35,000 GBP based on the current exchange rate is @$57,000
