(alright)

Finally decided on the wheel/tire setup for my Speed3. I debated dropping it on Eibach’s or Cobb’s then going with 225/40 or 235/40’s but kinda wanted to stick with the stock suspension, at least for now. I'm digging the new look and was glad to see the wheel gap wasn't too bad with the 225/45 on stock susp...just hoping for no rubbin'!

Anyway, enough BS, here’s what I went with:

Bronze MB Speed Wheels – 18x7.5 +48 (thanks for the recommendation on these fishdonotbounce!)
Goodyear Eagle GT – 225/45-18 (my A/S Colorado tire)
Stock Suspension
Hotchkis Rear Sway (should arrive any day)

I just got them on today so the pics are of a dirty car. I was outrunning hail from severe thunderstorms all the way home from work so I’ll try to post some better shots when I can wash it. Although I dunno when that will be since we’ve been getting pounded with bad weather over the last week. I live in Windsor, CO and we’ve 5 tornado warnings the past 3 days which only produced funnels...plus there was the EF3 that hit here last year.

Ok, I’ll shutup now (thumb) and just post the damn pics. Let me know your opinions!

i'm on a same boat and been wondering how should i drop it. leaning towards cobb because it's made to "use the stock shocks/struts". pro-kits for me looks better even though cobb has 1" as opposed to 0.8" or 0.7". then there's h&r's and dropzones but i think it's too much of a drop for me and it will rub. i'm forced to buy cobb now :(

btw, car looks good and the gap is livable - not as bad as an impala or a g6, eeeew!

I myself am looking to get 18 x 7.5's with an offset as close to +48. Love the way the wheels now sit even with the exterior. I hate the way the stock set up looks, nice choice.

Good to see you made a decision that you're happy with! (thumb)

The car looks great. I'm actually digging the "subdued," somewhat stock-ish look of those particular wheels. ;)

Man, that car is dirtAy! J/P ;)

The wheels look sweet and I think the gap is fine. Car doesn't look all that dirty to me.

Thanks for all the comments:D.

I was pretty nervous waiting at Discount Tire for the wheels to go on. I kept thinking it was going to look hilarious with a monster wheel gap but I was just overly paranoid. I do think a slight drop would make the wheels look that much better but I'm content with it.

It really isn't that dirty ;) except I gave it a good wash and wax on Sunday and we've had about 2 inches of rain since. The car got hit with nickel size hail that only lasted about 5-10 minutes at work yesterday so I'm just glad it didn't have any damage.

Next up is installing the RSB and painting the calipers which I'm hoping to do this weekend. I'm going black on the calipers with white MS decals...will def post more pics when they're done.

Can't say thanks enough to all the info and help people give on this site!

Cheers and hope everyone has a nice weekend!

I say go for it man, it will look awesome. Sounds like you are going back and forth and maybe a bit indecisive like I was haha. Post up some pics when you pull the trigger.....can't wait to see whatever you go with!

Whoa - glad she didn't sustain any damage from the hail storm. That would be my worst fear. While at work a hail storm comes by or as I'm driving somewhere.

Here are a few more pics of the wheels and with some of bumper plates I installed yesteday. I got them for the protection much more than the look, although I don’t think they look bad at all…kinda like it actually. I use the hatch a ton and scratched the bumper once already so hopefully this will keep it blemish free.

Yeah, we’ve had a bad last 2 years w/ severe weather. My previous car got tagged 2 years ago so I’m always paranoid but there usually there isn’t much you can do. I attached a pic that a got w/ my cell camera driving home from work Thurs night. This storm dropped golf ball size hail about 1 mile north so I was glad to have missed it & be driving the opposite direction…too many close calls lately.
