Intercooler question.

So i have a chance to get a front mounted intercooler for stupid cheap. no piping just the core. the dimensions are 25X9X3.5. it is a turbo xs core but not from there speed 3 kit as far as i know. would a core with these dimensions fit? i realize with the 3.5" thick i would have to do something with the P.S. cooler but im not really worried about that. Please respond promptly i need to know asap. thanks for the info.

making it too big may cause ect increases and cause lag and that is a little bigger then the cobb or cpe kit - i kind of go off of those as a base line b/c a buddy of mine has the turbo xs and it is a little bigger and he says he did get a little lag and had to tune more to compensate - what size is the inlet and outlet? if it's bigger 2&1/2" i might not do it - cpe's is only 2&1/4 and is widely accepted as one of the best kits around
