what mod would help complimen the mods I already have right now? any kind of help or input and reasoning would be greatly appreciated!

I'd have to say, go with changing your avatar first, then get the TMIC.

i dont think the ap will work right with an ets tmic. just like they dont have a map for an aftermarket bpv/bov. i think your only suppose to use the stock intercooler or the cobb front mount. but i could be wrong.

COBB has a map for upgraded TMIC's. Unfortunately you also have to have an upgraded downpipe as well to use it.

I thought a tune was needed for a upgraded IC and if so, id get the AP first. But TMIC FTL, FMIC FTW

lol!! i 2nd that...i was in the same boat as you, deciding if i wanted the SU TMIC or cobb AP. i pulled the trigger on the TMIC its so worth it! now im saving money up for the AP to get a tune.

alright.. can you guys give me a reason why I should get the TMIC first?

Both will probably give you comparable gains in the 15ish whp range. The AP might give you more. Just personal preference but I find opening your engine up / increasing efficiency a little is best before getting tuned. Just seems to make sense. The stock IC sucks and I couldn't imagine pushing the engine even harder on that thing. Not to mention the TMIC is problem free and super eary to install / remove.

Don't you spike when you get an upgraded ic and don't have a tune?

If so, go with the ap, that way you see gains right away and make sure your car is running properly and then once you get the ic you will then been able to have a tune for you car since you already have the AP. I say AP first

That's what I'm doing. My next mods are tires first b/c I want to get power to the ground. Then AP, dp, and FMIC follows.

AP is first so I can tune my other mods as I get them. That's what makes sense to me

I spiked without the upgraded TMIC. Only to like 17-18 and it would settle.

but the end isnt whats important. its the short runso therefore you make it to the end. i will not put a dp, fmic or any other mod on my car that should have a tune.

so its not the same in essense or atleast in my eyes its not.

my car has never spiked

I love this thing. Car pulls and responds better. On avg, my boost temps are 3-5*F cooler than the stocker in all conditions. No need for new tubing. The stock ones fit fine with the ETS. The install was very easy. When putting the new one on, just make sure not to loosen the bushing/gromets while seating it in...especially the rear. Easy trap to loose them on top of manifold and below. But worth the money indeed.(drive2)

NP...when you do get it and it starts to get really cold there, get the boost cut defender. You might get some because of the cold. But thats about 3-4 months till then.

Our ECU is very adaptive. Keep that in mind. Bunch of people using MBC's or running untuned without problems.

at peak performance according to dyno results posted here in these forums FMIC / TMIC are very comparable. Only differences would be that with FMIC you get slightly more turbo lag which doesn't hurt much with the tiny fast spooling KO4. The main issue is heatsoak. The upgraded TMIC will shed heat fast but it will heatsoak if you sit at a light for a couple min or wait in line for your turn at the track.

If you have the money and have the time to install it then I say go for the FMIC. One of the perks of the TMIC is the fast install / removal. Just weight hte pro's and cons and make your choice. Either way you will be happy.

I can give you a reason why you should change your avaiator...(blarf)

I believe dyno comparisons between the FMIC and TMIC is "dumb" because in both cases the hoods are open and there are giant aimed fans that blow on the motor + intercooler. In real driving situations, FMIC will receive much more air flowing through it and will yield noticeable more hp/tq. Another downside to FMIC is road debris, if you don't have a screen or some sort of protector, your FMIC could possibly get raped...plus the TMIC can be easily swapped in case of dealer visits. Go with the top mount... SLEEPER

I'll second (or more like 8 billionth at this point) the changing of the avatar. Nothing screams complete tool more than a self-shot look at my mussculz pic. No offense bro but... 99.9% of us on this board are dudes so... who exactly are you trying to impress?

Anyway... nuff of that. TMIC all the way. I've got both so I feel I'm a good judge. Is an AP going to help you with heat soak? Is it going to actually INCREASE the overall reliability of your car like an upgraded core will? Not only that but... without any major mods (like a TMIC) an AP is relatively useless imo.
