I'm looking at getting these for my orange MSP. I searched but still very am unclear of fitment.
Will they fit or will they rub?
If they rub, what can be done?
What's the best offset for 225 tires anyway?
Greatly appreciated.

Any issues with 225 wide tires on 17x7 wide rims?

you should stick to 215/45/17. 225 will make the wheel wider. It depends what offset ur wheels are.

They're 50mm.

You should be fine.

I have 225/45/17 on a 17x7.5 +45 wheel and stock suspension. I rubbed badly in the rear until I rolled the fenders. I still rub some when I hit bumps with weight in the back of the car.

I suspect you may rub a bit, but the extra 5mm of offset you have, along with a narrower wheel will probably mean you'll be okay, especially if you roll your fenders.

FWIW, I would stick with a 215 width tire on a 7" wheel.

215 on 7" 225 fits I'm lowered and running 17x7.5 with 225/45 17 on a 45 mm offset. Had to roll the rear as well. 225 on a 50 may rub in front when turning.

I have 225 45 17 on my stock harts with a stock suspension, the only "rubbing" i noticed was inside the rear fender some of the plastic rubbed off so it sort of fixed itself if you catch what im saying.

What issues would there be running 225 instead of 215 on 17x7? Thanks.

Nothing major, it's just a bit on the wide side for the wheel. I have 225/45s on a 7.5" wheel, and the sidewall is just a hair past the lip of the rim.

That's good to hear.
Stock offset is 55mm and it rubs only slightly on rear fender.
My new rims are 50mm offset so I should be ok then with the additional 5mm offset?

Would you go 225 again or stick with 215?
