I've been avoiding this thread, because I'm so scared to find out whether or not I got screwed. Ignorance is bliss.

But since no one is posting... I guess I'll get the ball rolling.

I got the 2.0L 4-door iTouring model, no extra options or packages. My cost was $17,845.

I put $3000 down bringing payments to $277 a month, later I added 2 year extended warranty for $1600, added on to financing, bringing payments to what I have currently at $308 per month.

Looks like I over-paid according to that link (and from other sources as well). Well it was my first time buying a new car. I learned some valuable lessons, and even though I overpaid, I could have overpaid a lot more.

I know I got screwed on my financing too, my FICO score going in was 820 and they tried to start me at 9% and I was like eff no. As much as I argued I couldn't get them past 5.99%. I should have walked out the door and I bet they would have changed then.

Well next time I will be so much more prepared I will make sure they sell me their car for LESS than they paid for it. (upyours)

I have a GT with tech and bose/moonroof package (black/tan), automagic and the homelink mirror. It was $26k out the door after tax which seems pretty decent to me.

I did get the X-Plan deal though (parents company uses Ford for a TON of vehicles) so I'm not sure how different that makes things.

Most times you can get under X-Plan and S-Plan if you go in looking to get under invoice, the plans are just around invoice.

Clearly the next time I go to buy a car I need to consult everyone here because that would've been nice to know before I signed the papers (hand)

Hey all- so Im mulling over this potential option-any thoughts?

2010 Mazda 3 GT 5 Door AT
+Bose/Moonroof Pkg
+All Weather Floormats

20k would be my final out the door price.
That includes S plan pricing, and applying all the taxes, plates, misc fees and ($3500) rebate from the clunkers deal.

I am trying to work out a deal w/ adding Sirius as well....

Last week I bought Mazda3 I Touring Manual with Bose/6cd. I also had a clunker and experienced issues with dealers trying to jack up the price. Originally they quoted me 18250, then when I mentioned I had a clunker the price would go up 500 dollars. Found the dealer in Lunenburg, MA to be very honest. That said I paid:

18,500
-4500 clunker
-500 mazda rebate

I just picked up my new M3iS for $11.9k a week and a half ago with the 5-spd manual. I love the car to death.

Before you freak, I traded in an old 1994 Lexus ES300 and got $4500 for it. I shopped around and brought them down from $13.1k to $11.9k, all including tax/title.

It's gunmetal blue. I forget what my monthly payment is - I didn't put any money down, got a 3% interest rate.

I don't think everyone is labeling their car correctly... I'm seeing prices for people stating i-touring down at $13,000.

I'm seeing some of the pricing in here and I feel like I overpaid:
California, Bay Area, DOP(date of purchase) 11/09
~$21,000(after all that "jazz") Bose package/6-CD/Moonroof package, manual.
$291/monthly, $4,000 downpayment, 4.9% APR.

Based on just this you did get screwed of at least the 1600. Extended warranty package are totally unnecessary and totally just extra profit for the dealer.

You bought a Mazda because they are well made, not because they are poorly made.

LoL have you ever owned a Mazda? I've owned 4 now and i've yet to have one that hasn't been plagued with some sort of retard problems, let alone the normal creaks and squeeks that have become the 2nd nature to 3 of the 4 cars.

If someone wants to pay for an extended warranty, more power to them. Mazda's no Honda in the reliability department.

I disagree. Hondas have their own issues too. Ive had Fords, Honda's, Hyundai's, Jeep's, GMC's and 4 different mazda's and on my 4th. Everyone has their issues, but ive been more satisfied with my mazda branded vehicles then any others. Not one of them has left me stranded other then a small belt that broke on my 94 protege one night.

I always wait to buy extended warranties til my warranty period is almost up. 90% of all repairs and issues happen within those first 15-20k. and if you have an issue and want to keep the car over 3 years, then at that point buy the warranty. Only thing i ever purchase is GAP.

Extended warranties can be a waste if you buy them and dont keep the car for over 3-4 years (which i never do).

Just my $.02

Picked up a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 in Black Mica with the Tech Package (well the only package) for $23,500!! Dealer had it marked up to $27,895 ($1800 was a fair market value add, then the Tech Package, Wheels Locks, & All Weather Mats)....Did online inquiries only and waited for the feeding frenzy. Once the calls and emails started coming in I started playing prices against each other til one dealer bit hard on it. I know everyone tries to tell the I killed them in the finance dept, but I did and it felt great, went in with a rate from my bank and they offered up a 3.9%, oh n nuttin down either =]
And yes I got up to leave 3 times before it was all said and done...end result $415 a month for 60 months out the door @ $24,475

Five Door Sport, no options: $17,750. I think windows sticker was ~$20,500. No fabric protection, paint protections or extended warranties. Put nothing down and took the Mazda financing for 5 years at 0%. Why spend my own money when Mazda is willing to pay me negative inflation to use their money?

I had a 2000 Protege ES. Sold it in 2010 with 125,000 miles. Replaced one thing not covered by the factory warranty. The heater control switch, cost me $7 and about 45 mins.

I had a 1993 Protege. Only had it two years from new until about 25,000 miles and it was perfect the whole time.
