View Full Version : Hi
What's up
Just picked up another protege.
Bought a '97 for my sister, but it needs a lot of work. What would be a good place to find some parts?
It needs front turn signals, grill, rear sidemarkers, passenger side taillights (has a bullet hole), both side view mirrors and so on.
The engine is fried too, but I'll try to resurrect it.

Ebay would be a good place for parts, how is the engine fried?
I've tried ebay, but no luck so far.
The previous owner said it owerheated.
There was almost no coolant in the system.
Compression was tested on only two cylinders so far, and both were at 0

Oh lord that stinks. Can you pressure test it and see if the headgasket is gone, you might be able to get away with gettin the head milled and a new headgasket put on. I have done that on a few hondas at my job. Rockauto.com and Partstrain.com both sell body parts. Ebay should have lights and stuff, caus they do for my 91. The newer style is more popular then mine I think.

welcome ...back, lol
and it sounds like you have your hands full on this one, a bullet hole...scary!
i hope you picked this up for really cheap too!
School ended, and my girld left me, so I have nothing but time... and some spare cash.
I actually picked up a few cars...
the protege for $150,
a running celebrity stationwagon for $100,
and a 92 integra gs... probably paid more than I should have for this one, but it's a fun car to drive.
This one is all stock, 5spd and all options. Might turbo it next week :P

Damn bro, that stinks, what you want a Celebrity station wagon for lol?
shits and giggles :-P
I’ve been really depressed lately, and buying and doing things I normally wouldn’t have.
well, I checked the compression, and it's 150, 55, 65, 150.
Then I checked the cooling system pressure, and it didn't hold it, pluss I heard seapage in cylinder 2 and 3.
Then I started taking apart the engine, and found the air filter drenched in coolant.
I should have the head off tomorrow. Hopefully it's just the gasket. If the heads warped, I might get it milled, but if it's cracked, I'll probably junk it all.
