Well i smashed up the front pretty bad. The 2 front beams that hold the bumper are almost torn off the frame. the bumper and all the front end is smashed up, the doors are fine but what i want to know is what will the insurance adjuster say. What do you think might happen? I'm just trying to figure out what "might" happen from past experiences by you guys.

first..glad you are ok. second..any pics? It is possible that it could be totaled but without pics, it's hard to say one way or the other.

I say its totaled, looks like there is some serious frame damage.
Whatever you did, don't do that.

The damage shows you rear-ended someone which makes it your fault, sadly. Good luck.

or it could show that he was driving and some one pulled out in front of them.

OR, someone could have thrown their car in reverse and hit him in the front. But probably not.
I agree with Gofast's opinion, the front frame is bent to one side.

Advice: next time you see a wall charging at you, swerve around it.

+1 but its also a good idea to lightly tap the brakes before swerving to avoid walls.

I hit a curb with the passenger side front about a month ago. I was amazed at the cost and the frustration of still finding things damaged that the body shop didnt find or fix making it even more costly. I had the whole front passenger side replaced including drive shaft but minus strut tower, front bumper, radiator, rocker, fender, fender guts, washer fluid reservoir, ect... The total came to $7500. I only owe double that and really thought it minimal damage. I never would have thought it would have had that price tag. Funny how we share parts with Ford, the standard 3 and Volvo with this car. Any how... I would almost say if you get up over 10k they will total it, I dont know. My frame was not bent though, I think that will be your deciding factor.

Just the cosmetics on the front of the car, headlight assemblies, bumper and bumper grills, left fender, and paint are going to add up like crazy.

i hope you don't mind, but i sent this image to a buddy that is an adjuster... the driver's side area is well into the 'crumple zone' portion of the car, it appears, and that should be enough to total it out...
at least that was his off the cuff opinion...
i don't think i would want it back, if they decided to fix it, that's for sure!
sorry about your car, bro. are you going to replace it with another?

I dont think you saw the picture correctly. I inspected it myself and the left side of the car is pushed back...how can i tell? The tire is rubbing with the fender and the top left motor mount is pushed UP...the engine isnt even sitting correctly..

Well It may not be totalled, I hit a mountain and $21k later I'm still driving
the car, no issues.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b286/jasnall/MyCar122.jpg
My Bags Did not deploy, but I think since yours did it may be heading towards totalled. I can tell you those Frame rails in the front that are all crumpled are supposed to do that, the just replaced mine and the laser frame aligner showed no frame damage.
It all will depend what the body shop finds, you could have some messed up suspension and maybe your frameis bent.
My original estimate was 8k, when they were done final bill to the insurance was 21,000. Part and this car are expensive, and mazda takes for fuking ever to ship them out, they shipped parts for a regular 3 about 5 times.
My car was in the shop for 2 months, and my INS didn't cover rental cars (smash)
Best of luck, If you have any more ???'s PM me.

Well that part you say is supposed to crumble, doesnt stop there. It goes as far back as the motor mount on the left side. The wheel on the left side is also rubbing against the the wheel well. When i start the car it sounds like SHIT!
Edit : Also the insurance isnt towing it a body shop...its going straight to the junkyard and they will inspect it there. They are picking it up later today.

that can be good and bad... If they just pay off your loan then you have to start all over again, losing down payment money and mods... What are you going to do?

I think it's a P.E.B.S.A.C. issue not a FWD issue.
