17x8 lowered

I Like 18x8 wheels but would love to put 17x8 wheels instead. though i would wanna cobb springs the car and lower it alittle to squat it down for those 17's to look good...can I do this without rubbing? suggest offsets would be awesome thanks :)

Keep the overall diameter of the tire the same and it won't matter what size your wheels are. Changing diameter will have no bearing on rubbing.

How come you prefer 17, over 18?

Well the 17's I can go alittle lighter wheel...also less expensive and think it would look fine lowered...good enough for evo's sti's...a wider higher sidewall tire should get more traction than a tall skinny right
