I am thinking about lowering the speed. My question is what spring out there has the best ride comfort? I am looking for as close to stock ride feel as possible. I was looking at maybe the cobb springs that lower you 1" all around. Are they any good? Any advise would be great.

I personally went with the eibach pro kit. after the springs settle its just about 1" drop all around and the ride isnt bouncy. I believe they are the cheapest springs too at $204 from Aaron at JSC.

springs make you bouncy and put more stress on the stock shocks. Some people have report their stock shocks going out at 15k some not till later

Some people also report stock struts going on stock springs around 21-25k. The eibach doesnt slam the car. I guess I will find out how long my shocks last in due time.

I've had both the Cobb's and H&R's. I can tell you H&R's are nothing like stock, and are not comfortable. That beings said, I love them and wouldn't trade them for the world. They are nice and low and tight, and feel great for me. When I was running the Cobb's I was fairly happy with them, but looking back I think I should have been less happy. They drop it around 1" and felt quite a bit like stock, but they did float.

I'm at 35000 KM's with stock struts running lowering springs the whole time I've owned the car pretty much, and my struts are fine.

I ordered a set of Vogtland lowering springs. Lowering is 1.2" F&R.

I have the Eibachs installed on my MS3. Overall it feel just a tad bumpier, but the sharpness and quick response is definitely worth it. I dont think its settled completly yet, but i believe the back went down .5 inches and the front went down 1". maybe a tad more on both. But I HIGHLY recommend it. Got a good deal from Ken@PG. y second choice were the COBBs.

Many people will tell you thought that its pretty damn hard to improve your car handling without compromising your daily driving comforts. Its just a matter of how much you want push your comfort.

If you want a nice, controlled ride, don't replace your springs without upgrading your dampers.

The stock dampers can't even keep up with the stock springs...

i have experience with H&R and cobb. the cobbs seemed a bit bouncier. the H&R's rode better.

I've always used Eibach's on my cars, cheaper than most, and I've never had a complaint about them.

Just installed the Eibachs on the car last night. 30 miles ride home and I am pleased so far!

Do the Eibachs improve squat under acceleration much? That's what I'm looking for.

can anyone chime in on roadmagents? I'm wondering if anyone has them?

Do the Eibach's get rid of the gap between the fender and tire in the rear? That's as far down as I wanna go

we've sold plenty of RM springs. the drop is pretty nice and i've heard mostly positive comments on them. jbird317 has them here on the forums.

Do you need camber plates with the 1.1" drop?

how are the VOGTLANDs treating you?? any one know what the spring rates are?

if you dont have a lot of money and want to lower, get an eibach spring. Eibach is bouncy tho. Had it before for my civic. i think Cobb is as close you can get to the stock spring.

if you have load of money, get a coilover set like BC coilover which can adjust the heigh and ride comfort.

I have Roadmagnets on mine and love the look. As for the ride, it is a little bumpy but, not bad at all. I have had them on since I have had the car and I have 20,000 miles on it with no problems.

I would guess the springs with the least drop. If you can afford it though go with some new struts while you have it all apart.

Stock springs...

IMO, the stock dampers aren't really even adequate for the stock springs, so any aftermarket lowering spring is going to be even worse.

haha. ya, i think i saw you say that to someone else but i didn't wanna quote you. i'm going to get coilovers i just can't get them yet. and if i go 17" wheels, it's going to look silly small without a low job. haha.

My 17's weren't too small. One inch smaller than stock with a 225/45 tire. My BC coils lowered the car a little but not much and the wheels look fine.

I know the feeling.... It took me forever to decide on wheels. First I wanted 18's and then 17's but then wanted the 18's again lol. Same with the decision between 7 or 8 or 9 inches wide. In the end I'm glad I went with the 17x8. Lightweight and the inch smaller keeps it from rubbing on the fender and 9 in wheels would've been nice but I was not sure how they would fit. The coils also help that since they are so stiff I can get a wheel off the ground now!

Not to mention the fact that your suspension is now horribly underdamped...but yeah, it must just be the roads' fault! ;)

I don't hate aftermarket springs per se. I just have a problem with people thinking they're an improvement when nothing is done to address the underdamped condition that they provide.

I've had aftermarket springs on every car I've ever owned, but they've been properly coupled with appropriate dampers in each case. ;)

that dude is correct when using lowering springs --sport dampners or performance struts should be used because the factory spec struts are designed or valved to work together with the factory springs--yes more stress can be put on the stock dampners because you are lowering the center mass of the car--not only are performance struts valved differently but they have a shorter travel which helps in eliminating the bounce

installed the eibachs plus mazdaspeed rear camber links.

the drop is subtle and very nice.

ride is not much different from stock. will most likely go with yellows or FSDs in the future. but first - sway bars, not sure which yet.
