I'm looking at some rims for the near future. I saw a couple of people on this forum have the 18x9 rims and want to know what all do you have to get done to make this work. I know you have to roll the fenders. I just want to go wider if 18x9 is too much work, how bout 18x8.5? I just want some good traction and a aggressive look. Sorry for the post, not sure if anyone has asked about this. I've never ordered or put on aftermarket rims before

My RX-8s and 225/45s hit the forward part of the rear fenders on driveway transitions or radical suspension movement. The offset is +50, which pulls them in a tiny bit.
What's the offset on the 18x9s? I'd think it should be in the 40-45 range, which may put you in jeopardy for backspacing.

I just got done reading this other post about a 35 offset maybe? I don't know. He had coilovers though. I'm on stock suspension so I don't know if I would have to do anything with my suspension. Like look hella nice though. I love the rx8 rims as well. Wish they would have put those rims on our cars in the first place

that seems a little wide, If the rims come in 8 or 7.5 get that

but he wants the wider contact and aggressive stance....he won't really get that with 7.5 or 8 wide wheels.... 18x9 is possible cause people have done it already. i'm sure 8.5 would still need some fender rolling, dropped or not.

Yeah, thats the thread I read. He has coilovers and had to lift up the rear end so it wouldn't rub. I think his car looks so bad ass with those wheels

Could I do it with the stock suspension?

Grip comes from tires, so why not just get a sticky autocross tire like a Dunlop Direzza StarSpec and call it a day? Then you don't have to worry about rubbing, additional mods, changing the geometry of the car, etc.

I'm on stock suspension with 18x8.5 +48's and I dont rub wearing 225/45R18 Falken Azenis.

Because I want the aggressive look. Yeah, think I might just go with the 8.5 like you did with 45 offset. Sweet, w h e e l d u d e seems to be the only place to get rims that wide. I tried other websites and no luck. I have cosmic blue so I'm thinking about going black rims
