Couple of questions. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

A friend recently gave me a 2002 Mazda Protege5. The car is pretty good condition except for a slight front bumper blemish from an accident she got into.

Here's the thing. The car has been sitting in a garage for at least 6 months without it being turned on. Battery is obviously shot.

I haven't heard good things about cars that haven't been used for extended periods of time.

The car has 84k and 3 months before being garaged my mechanic changed out the timing belt and water pump.

Anything I can do? Tune up? flush out all the fluids? new spark plugs?

I drove the car on a regular basis before it was garaged and it was a decent daily driver. Good on gas, pretty reliable, looks pretty good and it has a nice aftermarket sound system.

Would it be worth to keep it or is it just going to be headache after headache?

It's filthy right now but as soon as I clean it up I'll be sure to post some picks

So just do a tune up and flush (tranny, radiator, etc) ?

Looks sweet dude!

Hopefully soon I will be able to do some bolt on stuff.

Unfortunately it's an automatic since she didn't know how to drive stick but I've seen in these forums that the auto will be able to handle some basic bolt ons without a problem.

Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to learning and sharing in this forum

Well I did some work on the audio and here's some of the preliminary work

I still have to clean up some of the wiring (and the car) but all of it is working
