Mazda 5 Sport cruise Conversion?

So the mazda 3's can be converted to have cruise control just by adding the switch on the steering wheel and replacing the brake switch, maybe we should be able to get it working on the 5 sport the same way?

Yes it`s exactly the same, i did it on my old Mazda5 GS, the only difference is that the buttons on the 3 are red.

I've been searching the posts and I haven't been able to find the info to install cruise on my 09 Mazda 5. The dealer says that they don't have anything and that Mazda 5 owners have been upset about this.

your '09 Mazda5 doesn't have cruise control? I have an '09 sport, no options, and cruise is standard.
or am I missing something?

This 09 was a rental -- I don't know why it didn't come with cruise! -- I was very surprised when I got it from the auction that it didn't have cruise. I thought (incorrectly obviously) that it was standard. I also thought that a quick call to the dealer would get me a few pieces to install and I'd have it that way -- no luck.

then what takes the place of the cruise buttons on the right side of the steering wheel?

This forum is a mixture of US and Canadian users (and a few other countries tossed in). The US and Canadian models have slight differences, apparently the lack of cruise control on the base Canadian model is one of them.
