Sounds like the guy is ok
NHP says medics have rushed one man to the hospital. He was treated and released.
doesnt sound like he was being smart tho if he was the only one involved...
There is no word on what caused the accident but it appears only one car was involved.

Sounds like a wreckless driver to me if the only person involved in the accident was himself.

The freeway is lookin nice bud, so much bigger and so much less traffic.

awesome! I havent seen it since last november of 07 but anything north of the curve was looking really good. Have they started the 15 yet? I know that was next on the list.

Seeing that the engine flew out from the engine bay, they were most likely the OEM mounts! You guys remember that video of a road race with an MS3 that barrel rolled 8 or 9 times? The engine flew out of that car as well so...
And let's not jump to conclusions here, yes, the driver COULD have been reckless but it could have been a deer or something! You know those deer just love to pop out of nowhere, even if it is in the middle of the Nevada desert!

Hehe, the first thing I said to my self when I saw the motor had fallen out was "I bet he had stock mounts on"

It looks like a good part of the front end is missing.
I doubt that stronger mounts would have made a difference.

Been there, done that. It sucks to lose a car like that. Hope we get the full story and learn from it.

No shit sherlock! Not too many production cars spit out their engines in major accidents. That's why the mention of the barrel rolled MS3 with the FLYING projectile engine. As violent as that crash was, having the engine pop out like that just doesn't seem right.

You do realize that modern cars are designed to drop the engine and transaxle upon a front end collision to prevent them from being forced into the passenger compartment.

Exactly. The MS3s is unusually adept at helping the law of natural selection take its course. I think of it as a turbocharged dose of chlorine for the human genetic pool.

The 15 is still the 15. Still a lot of traffic with construction going on. They are trying to expand it, it feels like it's been forever though.

LOL. I've lived here for awhile, and I have not seen or even heard of any deer accidents.

Glad to hear that the driver was OK.
Wouldn't it be ironic if the engine falling out is what caused the wreck?

Sure, but they really shouldn't be tossed out like projectiles either. Granted these are probably high speed and quite violent collisions but having the engine heaved out like that is another accident three lanes over.

Come on, you just KNOW moose & deer love munching on cacti and tumbleweeds in Nevada. Common knowledge!
