Evo Wing On Msp

i saw a thread on this a while ago i think but i cant find it again. i want to get a Evo wing nda put it on. does anyone know if it will fit?

I have one. IT barely fits, but it fits. Only like 1/2 a inch to the side of the trunk where you have to drill to make the bolts fit.

did yours start to chip the paint off the corner of the car? mine would somehow hang over the edges just enough to do just that. pissed me off so bye bye wing lol

fer realz.... the MSP spoiler(s) are much cleaner/tasteful and just fit the car better. if anything, you should go wingless! ha!

i cant go wingless. lol i just cant pull that off haha and i only have the 2003 not the 03.5 so the wing looks liek crap in my opinions so i need a new spoiler. and the evo wing is just SO NICE!

I don't like the 03 wing either. I'd either go with a cf trunk or 03.5 wing. The evo spoiler looks pretty good imo; but I don't feel like messing with the paint chipping. Spicy isn't cheap to touch-up.

For a while, I was looking at a carbon fiber evo wing so I wouldn't have to paint it. Still might. Just don't like the idea of paint chipping. I still think wingless looks good though with a cf trunk.

some company makes a replica 03 wing without the middle post. Mazdaprotege2 has it and it looks good

yep yep, its made by wings west and is exactly the same as the 03 wing (also made by Wings west) except for that middle bar. which, in my opinion makes it better looking. They had to change something about it because the 03 was a Mazdaspeed specific part label and didn't want WW to market it for other vehicles.

That's what I want to do also. I want to get a cf trunk and hood. Only problem is I want a vented cf hood, but don't want the OEM version or evo style because it rains too much here. So I'll have to do some searching for one with smaller vents. Then some new rims and the outside will be set!

i only liked the evo wing on Victor's car. he had the supporting mods to make it look good. big wheels, perfect ride height, spacers etc...

Rofl that's rediculous. While your at it make some cf doors, front and back bumpers, mirror caps, and rear quarters. If you want to go crazy make some cf 3rd window covers.

That's precisely why I think I'd rather go wingless. Don't want to deal with the hassle of holes from taking the spoiler off, or even the possibility of paint chipping.

When I took the spoiler off one of my other vehicles, I used simple fiberglass putty (I think....can't remember because its been a while), then took it to MAACO to sand it and paint over it. They did a good job and it was cheap. I wouldn't trust them with my spicy though....being a more complex paint job and all.

Lol yeah..... The drivers door pillar has a small bug in the clearcoat lol, the ebay guy never responed back to me about it :( But OHWELLLLLLLLL :) you dont notice it untill i say it haha.

Evo wing is too big for the MSP I think. I saw one once and thought the scale looked wrong. The Evo wing is made for the slightly larger Evo, our MSPs are a little too small to pull off such a massive wing...IMO

It seems like a lot of folks take the attitude that if its the stock Mazdaspeed Development design it must be wrong... IMHO, the stock 03.5 spoiler is perfect in scale and design. Aggressive w/o being ricey.

have an authentic evo 8 spoiler, the real one full carbon fiber, these retail for over 1300 from the dealer! needs a new clear job and to be painted to match! the fit right onto our trunks, no modification required, besides the 4 holes u have to drill! and they look great with the right setup! ill post a pic if i can!

On top of everything else, the evo wing increases the perception that the car is "raked"... ok if you like that look I guess. I don't.
