so now that summer is on its way i'm going to be rolling down the street with the windows down, music blaring...oh wait, my system sucks...

i'm missing my drivers side front door speaker (it was cut out) and the amp and sub box was cut out as well. so what i did was i bought a new amp and sub box (the stock ones) to put back in, but i still need:

1 pair of front door speakers (prefer to go 5x7 for direct replacement)
PLUS
a Double Din sized headunit (prefer not to spend more than 600 and do not need navigation)

ideas anybody?

P.S. i know nothing about audio so you'll have to tell me what all the stuff means lol.

if you want great sound quality go BOSTON speakers....for a head unit on the other hand. i know pioneer makse some decent ones in your price range. that price range is a bit low for a double din but the best you'd get for that is a pioneer. here ya go :) a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD

well i just got back from a trip to best buy and i caved. i bought the avh-p4000dvd instead of the 4100 because they had a clearance on it for 350 and the last one left was the display so i took it. since it was the display i got a 10% discount and bought the protection plan for 4 years since i'm a little worried about it being a display. their plan only cost about 45 bucks, so i wound up paying about 10 after the discount lol. sounds like a deal to me. i also got the ipod adapter which was a whopping 60 bucks...rip off i know but they told me you can't get all the functions out of your ipod (video basically) without it.

so i ask of everyone

i don't have the din removal tools. how the hell do i get my stocker out? if i need special tools, where can i get them?

is there anything else i will need for the install? best buy quoted me 200 for the install and i said "i'll think about it"...HAH like i'm gonna pay that.

install would have been included if you would have bought the 4100 i believe. i just dont think install is included with clearance...i could be wrong though but im pretty sure thats how it worked for my old protege

alright well i got fed up with best buy and returned the p4000 and ordered the p4100 off of crutchfield like i intended on doing in the first place. why you ask? because best buy didn't give me the dash kit that is supposed to come with it. crutchfield gives me everything i'll need for the install. except of course for the ipod adapter which i had to pay extra for.

-I have an Alpine R12" subwoofer that is hooked up to an Alpine MRP-M500w Amplifier, with a Capacitor

-Enough 4 gauge Monster Cable to wire two vehicles. (Ground, Power, 2 sets RCA cables, Remote lead)

-Professionally custom made Vented box just for the Alpine R12 (made to exact specs)

-Everything is less than four months old and i have the receipts to prove it, also on those receipts are 4-year COMPLETE replacement plans for the amp and sub, and on the capacitor and wiring i have a one year replacement warranty. That means that whatever you do to break the sub and amp, (if its not obvious) Best Buy will replace it

-And let me be the first to tell you, this combination of the R12 sub and 500w rms amp is absolutely amazing sounding. They will hit so unbelievably hard and still sound perfect vocally, i wouldnt suggest anything else. There is NOTHING wrong with this system, i just need money for some parts on my car

-Lets run some prices: Alpine R12- Cost $275.50 new, i will sell it for $225
Alpine MRP-M500w Amp- Cost $254.15 new, i will sell it also for $225
Scosche Capacitor- Cost $80.65 new, will sell it for $50
Monster Cable 4 Gauge wiring kit, W/ sealed fuse- Cost $94.78 new, will sell it for $50
Professionally made Box- Cost $150.46 new, sell it for $90
I will throw in a set of 4 Gauge wires from my other vehicle for free,
Everything adds up to $640.00
- If you buy everything from me i will sell it to you for $610
- Although, i am willing to negotiate a bit on the pricing, please give me a call if you have any questions or are interested at all
- I am willing to meet nearly anywhere on most any day,
Thank you for your interest, and like i said please call if you have any questions
