I doubt someone hit you. they would have hit the bumper/headlights before damaging your fogs.
You probably hit a rock on the highway or a parking curb.
Either way, email me at nutari@protegegarage.com for a price quote. :)

A rock hit a foglamp and broke it one time on my MS3.
It cost me 300 to fix from the dealer. Most of that cost was the part.

i thought that too, but the housing is chipped too. the bumper under the fog light is chipped too. something that big would have done more damage. i think i would have noticed a rock that big.

Yeah, mine is broken as well. I noticed it about 4 months into owning it. It looked like a rock broke the glass. I just don't use it b/c of the cost to replace it...

Its not always road kill .. Example, all on my passenger side, truck tire tread in the middle of the highway, couldnt avoid, hit at 80 mph, scratched bumper and area around fog light -- cat runs out literally right in front of me, cracked middle of front bumper lip, plastic mesh, shattered plastic clips holding underbody to inner fender well and piece behind bumper -- and most recently god damn raccoon which i desperately tried to avoid ran out and ended up putting a huge dent under my fog light and knocking my bumper off the passenger side! lost all plastic clips from inside fender!
Insurance should cover it, youll just pay the deductible.

Hm. Start a list of who wants them and which sides. I'll see what I can put together if we get enough ordered.

options? These are for OEM foglight housing replacements. It seems they are broken very easily. Everyone should check out www.rockblocker.com for fog light covers. I had them on my ms3 and never had a cracked housing.

From wikipedia:
"Studies have shown that in North America more people inappropriately use their fog lamps in dry weather than use them properly in poor weather.[14]"
So yeah it isn't a big deal if you are joining the club. Fortunately mine are not damaged (fingers crossed) but I almost never use them.
