OK, here is what you do:
1)Drive really hard for a week or so and make sure to slam on your breaks whenever possible.
2)Then you swap your wheels out, front to back.
3)Repeat step 1
and Presto! Gunmetal or Black Rims for FREE!
Ugh, I hate cleaning my rims.

Try the new eagle one rim stay clean stuff. Its a spary you put on after you clean the wheel. Goes on hazy but after about 10 minutes its clear. Suppose to keep the rims clean of brakedust. I havent had a chance to apply mine yet. Just read the bottle. Ill let ya know when i use it.

That stuff is useless. Tried it after I rotated my wheels and washed/cleaned the wheels thoroughly, it didn't do shit. Save your $$$ and either wax them or just wash them well.

be gentle with them like you were cleaning wounds, because the pads like to rip/disintegrate if you treat them like a sponge. it doesnt mean it takes longer, you just have to have a light touch, but they do what they say
"Mr. Clean Magic Erasers" is the item, they have household and automotive. either one works.

I've also read some detailing articles that recommend using clay bar to clean brake dust off your wheels. Don't use the same clay you use to do your paint, but if you're about to toss it, save it for the wheels.
Using Clay to Clean Your Paint: Autopia.org (http://www.autopia.org/publish/articles/7/1/Using-Detail-Clay-To-Clean-Your-Cars-Paint/Page1.html)
Scroll down and check that out. A good clay and some wax should take care of everything on your wheels and give them a good amount of protection as well.

I am probably rattle canning my rims today. LOTS of sanding, Couple coats of paint and a couple coats of clear coat....works great. Here's some before and after on my old SRT4. (About a 4 Hour Job)

I just did my sisters wheels over the weekend for her MZ3. They really look good.
Also her Boss seen them yesterday and asked if we can paint the wheels on his 2009 Toyota Tacoma that he bought 2 weeks ago.
