To be specific, a Mazda 3 Grand Touring 2010, fully loaded. (hey, if you're going to get a new car, might as well get it specked how you like it?)
After shopping for 4 months, we finally found a 2007 Mazda 3 Grand Touring for sale used (15k miles), which we had been looking for. My wife and I test drove it, and it was nice, but just not jumping out at us. Before making the purchase, we figured why not test drive a 2010?
Wow -- what a difference. Test drove the 2010 for about 45 minutes, and my wife drove it for another 10-15. We were both, hands down, sold on the car. It was very comfortable, ride noise was low, it "gripped the road" amazingly, was nice and punchy, and came loaded with a ton of gadgets.
It came down to this one question: blue or black? (sporty and fun, or mature and sophisticated? bah who needs maturity...)
I'll add some pictures tomorrow.
***UPDATE***
The dealer got the car into a wreck on the way to deliver it, so it looks like I won't be a Mazda owner just yet. They're replacing it and then some, but we just have to wait for the replacement car to come in. :-/

Awesome buy. Congrats. I am also planning to buy the 2010 Grand Touring, fully loaded. Why not, since it is not that much more than the M3i model. Please post some pics. I am getting mine in the Mica gray.

Hey Captain,
What do you suggest in doing to the 2010 M3 GT as far as mods? Do you have any ideas that the forum members might be able to pick up from you?

well so far no 2010 3's have been victims of a failboat...
Glad to hear you like it - which blue did you settle on? The gunmetal or the lighter? I'm a blue guy, but don't really like either (though I think I COULD be forced into liking the lighter...)

The celestial blue (the one in all the ads/posters). It's very energetic in the day time and sleek in the evening.
Sadly, the blue is the only color my wife and I both like, so it looks like we'll be waiting it out for a couple months for a replacement to get here.

According to my dealer tan interior= sit on the lot all year while all the ones with black interior fly out the door.
Not knocking you for liking, but I guess it's not very popular. They won't even order them unless they are pre-sold.

+1. I have been to 5 delaers, no black interior in stock, but they do have a bunch of the tan interior. Yuck!!! They can't even give it away. LOL. The guy offered me $2,500 if I would buy one. I said No tahnk you. Tan interior with a smiley face=one jacked up car!!! What was Mazda thinking??? Gray, black, white and red cars with a tan interior looks awful. Well to me it does.

depends on what your goals are honestly. motor mounts and suspension are always good mods that everyone can enjoy. if you're looking for power, Corksport has some intake and exhaust goodies coming down the pipe.

yeah guess it comes down to preferences. I like it since it opens up the car. I really like it w/blue, but the copper red'll do. Interesting how much they sit on the lot. Guess when I do end up getting a 3, that'll make it easier/cheaper for me to get :)

For sure. I want to post pics, when I get my new 3.
I could get an awesome deal on the tan interior, but I can't stand to look at it, so I will wait for a black one. It's not about the money, especially if you hate what you drive, then hell why buy it.
