Hey gang. Just wondering if anyone out there has come across this same problem....I have a 2006 MS6, and this year I have noticed that all of my rims are starting to "bubble" at the paint and it is starting to chip off.

Luckily, I contacted my Mazda dealer and i am still covered under warranty. They advised me that they will arrange to have them repainted, but I am going to ask them to powder coat them black, otherwise I will demand a new set of rims.

I have 30,000 kilometers on it, however I live in a part of Canada, where the winters are quite harsh, and our summers are super hot.

I am just glad that they have agreed to have my rims powder coated black.

Where were your wheels chipping? I have noticed that I have a little bubbling right around the center caps. Nothing has actually chipped off yet, but I don't have them on the car, either.

I'd go with the flat black. It's sexy.

Yea, they all should start bubbling at the center cap first. That is quite common.

I am surprised they want to "paint" them for you. Something is better than nothing though. Painting them is cheap. Powder coating is not comparatively.

Mine is also 2006, only 15k miles and they are peeling and bubbling all over the place. It was one of my reasons for buying the car, because I already had the new wheels on order before buying it and the state of the stock wheels enabled me to knock the seller down on price a bit.

I first noticed the bubbling on the inside of the "spokes" a few months later they started bubbling around the center caps.

I only use them for winter rims with a set of hankook icebears......

I think you guys are right, and I will go with flat black.
