Have a squeak on front bushings and wanna replace them. Here is question -

1. The best place to buy(I've seen AWR on protegegarage for 20. The title doesnt say if they're front or rear ones). Are the front and rear bushings same?
2. Is it worth to grease them a little it?
3. It looks like the installation process is long and painful (for front). Is there any instruction how to do that or just advise from people who changed by themselves?

Thanks.

i just ordered some basic bushings for $20 each. they are 25mm.... different from the rears which i believe are 20mm. i just put in a AXR clunk fix bracket on the rear sway bar which includes new bushings. definitely greased them on both the inside AND the outside(which is essentially between the bracket and the bushing). i'm also going to grease the fronts, it'll extend the life of the bushing and keep them quieter. as far as the install on the front bushings, i'm still trying to figure out what kind of wrench i can even fit in there! super tight fit... would like to avoid completely disassembling the entire front suspension just to change the bushings. hopefully some one else can chime in on this one....?

I just recently got the front sway bar bushings from them who shall not be named, and I installed them the other day. It's a little bit of a pain in the ass, but you can get an average ratchet and socket in there. Best way is to get the car on a lift and remove the front wheels. Have a 14mm socket and combo wrench handy. Takes a little time, but it's worth it when the squeak goes away.

So, no need to take the front suspension off, just to play with ratchets andwe should be good, huh?(idhitit)

i just replaced my front bushings after 75k and im very pleased with the difference it made. got OEMs from onlinemazdaparts.com for 11.96 each.

took off the front wheels and used a regular 14mm wrench for the back bolts from under the car and a wrench with a pivoting head for the front bolts from the wheel wells. no need to disassemble anything else.

when installing the new ones, put grease between the bar and bushing and between the bracket and back side of the bushing. the bracket is supposed to go on with the closed bolt hole to the front. start that bolt in first. i had to compress the driver side suspension a little to move the bar forward to get the bolts started on that side. the bushings get squeezed in pretty tight.

wow, i gotta try again with some different tools perhaps. the only thing i could get on the bolts was a 14mm wrench, but then there was no room to turn it! the noise from the front end is driving me nuts....
