I don't care about big bov noises, but I do care about a good running MSP if that is possible. I am in the process of looking to upgrade the intercooler to a SMIC and hard pipes. If I do not select a BOV, I would keep the stock bpv. Besides noise, what is the benefit of the BOV over the stock BPV system?

the only problem with the stock bpv is the inneficiency to be able to return all of the charged air back to the intake. If you are getting hardpipes you out to get the boostsciences rdv (basically a bpv) gives you the same recirc that came with the car but does not cause turkey because the valve is big enough to send all of the charged air that is not used back into the air intake like it should. This is what I have and it works great. Sounds stock but performs the way a recirc system should. No stalling issues or anything like that. The bov has no real benefit except for sound and eliminating the turkey, but it comes at a cost, you either have to relocate the maf to the coldpipe or have lots of stalling issues due to the car not getting the proper A/F mixture becuase you are discharging air that the maf read as being in the system.

+1 on the RDV over stock

not necessarily true.. you could run a dual set up bov and bpv. I run the stock bpv and hks bov with the maf in its stock location. No turkey, no stalling or stumbling.

^He is saying he will either do a bov or a bpv he did not mention both so I was responding to that situation only but yeah you are right.

I'm running upgraded SMIC, S.U.Hardpipes with HKS BOV and Forge BPV. No compressor surge or stalling at all. My MAF meter is in stock location as well. I am very happy with the performance given. Whether you go for a dual set-up or not there are plenty of options that allow optimal performance.
