Is it a good / bad idea to take the mid section off and knock the internals out of the cats to allow better airflow? hehe

I am running an open midpipe, and I lag a little bit more out of boost, but when I am in boost, I spool at 2000 rpms (thumb). I am thinking about running an open downpipe too.

No, I mean the stock exhaust ends at the midpipe. The cats are still there but there is no muffler or test ppipe.

Well, i did it. I dropped my pipe out, punched all of the material out of both cats. bolted it back on. Sounds a lot deeper - not too bad at all for a free mod... Performance is slightly better - not a whole lot more. Seems to run a lot smoother (not as laggy) and spool is quicker.
