the rear audio button on the screen is not highlighted? is it really setup that way? thanks for any help.

as you can see, the rear seat optimized is not highlighted.

Just a tip, if you want accurate answers, make a signature or avatar with your exact year and trim, like mine.

For rear seat optimization to be active, you need a CD or DVD encoded with DTS/5.1 Dolby Digital in the RSES.

I think only DVD-A has that. I could be wrong, here.

Just have to look for it on the label. I honestly don't know of any CDs like that. I'm too old fashioned.

I think you're right. My Cadillac STS has a Dolby True 5.1 Surround System, and I had to buy DVD-A disks to be able to enjoy the full potential.

The system does sound amazing when a DVD-A is played.
