so first, ive searched for the answer to my question and i cant find it hence my thread.

i bought a msp that is running dual setup bov/bpv, i want only bpv (i actually like the turkey) i have the stock intake pipe on there now with the ion fmic kit. i have an injen cai for the car i want to install as i go bpv only, so my question is which fitting on the injen intake does the pipe to bpv go and what one does the pipe to the valve cover go? the injen has a longer pipe that is welded on, and smaller one closer to the maf side of the pipe.

also if im running more boost than stock, about 9psi, will the stock bpv leak? is there adjusting it?

thanks guys, this whole bpv/msp setup is new to me, my turbo'd p5 didnt have to deal with it lol.

The short goes to the valve cover with the rubber hose that came with the kit, the long one with the bends in it go to the BPV.

turkey is not good, it means not all the pressure is being let out.

The turkey sound will eventually ruin the turbo.....if I am correct.

The Turkey sound is the sound of the air that cant all go out of the small nipple for the BPV and going back to the turbo and giving you a compressiong surge. It will ruin your turbo if it keeps it up. Shaft play = NO GOOD, LOL (oh rly now?)

So if you care about your car, you want to get rid of it. Which there are many ways to do this, if you want to just run a BOV alone you just have to get a 1" (Thats what I remember hearing dont quote me on it, but PM 505zoom he can help better) Nipple/ BPV to get rid of the turkey for good :) OR Run a duel set up, or run a BOV (some cases it doesnt work because the nipple is to small and not letting enough air out fast enough.

OMFG are we going to get into this BS again?

No, that is not compressor surge. If you truly believe it is, there are many discussions on the subject, with many very knowledgeable members agreeing with me that the turkey sound typically heard in the MSP is not compressor surge. If you'd have ever personally experienced compressor surge yourself you'd know there is a big difference. I have experienced compressor surge, and I'm sorry but you guys are wrong.

I have the turkey with a HKS BPV, and am not going to a BPV/BOV set-up.

i know its not compresser surge, its that the valve letting out the pressure is not doing its job right, and usually the case is that the valve is too tight, or too small (stock BPV) and the valve reverberates, making the turkey sound.

After much back and forth with 505 zoom about this and doing the setup on my car I feel I can shed some light on this. To do the BPV only and get rid of the turkey you have to do the following:
-Have an aftermarket hotpipe
-A CAI or SRI
-BPV with 1" inlet and outlet
-Have a 1" fitting welded onto the hotpipe
-Have a 1" fitting welded onto the CAI/SRI (will probably have to relocate fitting from where it comes stock as it is usually on the side of the pipe closest to the engine
-run a 1" id piece of silicone pipe from the outlet fitting on the hotpipe to the inlet of the bpv then run as short as possible a 1" id pipe from the outlet of the bpv to the inlet fitting on the CAI/SRI
-(A good bpv is the boostsciences RDV) (kinda pricey but a great piece that has a stockish sound that sounds nice)

Here is a good write up on your options:

If you want help with the bpv only setup without the turkey you can ask myself or 505Zoom

if you have 1" in and out on the BPV, then yes. you just need 1" all the way through
