1st to 2nd Loud Pop Noise.

Anyone ever experience a loud pop/bang noise when shifting hard 1st to second. I came out of chipotle and had some rice a roni civic coupe in front of me..... so hes reving it up and shit... long story short I hit second while hes already in my rear view mirror and get this BANG/POP noise.... so I let off. Everything seems fine. I looked underneath and dont see anything out of the ordinary. Just thought I would post and see if anyone has ever heard something like this.

i would say just a back-fire. stock tune could do this b/c it is pretty rich or maybe you have a leak in your re-circ hose but i would so nothin really to worry about.

It really sounded like it was in the drivetrain almost.... as much as I dont want to say that.....

what about that issue with the motor bucking and hitting the firewall? i know i have read a lot of that with people running the stock mounts

The typical drivetrain lash / notorious 1st-2nd gear bang ??

You need engine mounts to alleviate that. Happens to everyone when shifting agressively from 1st - 2nd without engine mounts

Ah ha. Yea I didnt know what to think at first. I rarely bang through the gears in that car.
