another stock kenwood issue

so I tried with 2 different faceplates but both do not show anything the on display. ive pressed the reset button, nothing. is this an entire HU issure or what? i cant find my manual to trouble shoot it

That's what mine did and eventually it just ended up getting stuck in the eject position. From what I've read, replacing the ribbon cable fixes the problem. There is more info in the stickies.

i just got this head unit used a couple months ago. the music still plays and it works other than the display

That is what mine did. First it stopped playing MP3 CD's, thenthe equalizer went out, then the whole display, but still played. Then it stopped working completely and eventually got stuck in the eject position.
