I have a 2006 Mazdaspeed6.

When I bought it, the paint around the centercaps was already "scaling". A lot of paint has been chippped off, but I've never really been bothered about it. Until now, since I'm looking to trade my wheels for a different set.

Someone I do not know well said that the wheels should be covered against this type of defect.

Can anyone confirm that it should be covered under Mazda's Warranty? My initial 3 year warranty on the car has expired about 4 months ago.

Thanks!

No there's no such thing as a wheel warranty. We had a thread like this somewhere along the line not too long ago.

I had the exact same issue here in Quebec City where salt and snow is rough on wheels I guess, Mazda took them back for refinishing under warranty, they even offered to fix a scratch if I wanted, paint was also scaling a lot on one wheel, I assume they are not painted for real winters. No news yet, it has been two weeks now since I left them my wheels, but I was confirmed that they will be refinished when I left them. Since it's a known issue they might take them back even if your warranty is over....

Good luck
