Widest tire on Racing Harts?

Hi,

So the stock Racing Harts are 17x7 with a +50mm or +55mm offset. I was wondering if anyone had tried 235/40/17's on them.

I was thinking off putting a spacer on the front because I know it will probably rub the struts, but the back should be fine.


If nobody has done it, I might just try it, and if it rubs, I'll just get 17x7.5 or 17x8 rims with high offset.

225 is the widest tire for a 7" wide rim. You can probably fit a 235 on there, but why would you want to? The 235 will be functioning with its sidewalls at an angle and therefore reducing its vertical strength. The end result is that a 225 will give you more grip, better handling and better tire wear than the 235 on a 7" wide rim.
